The availability of books does not depend of a format but the online bookstore. What can be very popular to someone cannot be to other. For instance, IT book collection (Oracle, SQL, PHP, etc) in B&N is poor comparing to Amazon, and B&N books are in epub format.

I've still have not found (myself, my preference) any book in B&N that is not in Amazon. Moreover, it is usually cheaper in Amazon. And I am talking about non IT books as well, like novels and bestsellers. Remember, Amazon is a "monster" in USA. Its book catalog is huge!

To the OP
I am not advocating for a Kindle, a Sony or a Nook, but for a device that allows you to read the books that you like and want, without any extra step of hassle, including GEO restrictions.
