I have both a Kindle and a Sony Reader. Both are good-quality products. If you look in the Kindle forum, you'll find that reports of problems with Kindles are rare.

Nothing beats the 3G Kindle for ease of buying books. Just select the book in the Amazon book store and a few seconds later it's there on your reader.
