I wish my dad would have been willing to have someone else come help. But, no, he said we could do it ourselves. I think, I am finally getting warm again. We were able to dig the trench (by hand!) and finally found the pipe and the leak (it was only 36 inches or so down). Muddy, sandy soil is not fun to move. We had sump pumps going as we dug down to and under the pipe. The last part, I had to be on my stomach to lean in and clean mud away from the shut off valve. By the time it was dark, my toes and fingers were numb, I was covered head to toe in mud, and I couldn't feel my legs. Tomorrow, we get to cut the pipe and shop for a new piece to repair it.

I have been washing some of my daughter's and my grandson's unwanted clothes (still look like new but they have grown out of them) to send out to the flood areas to the north and west. Up there money is not such a help because there are no local shops to go to to buy these things. I will take them up to a collection depot once I finish sorting and folding them.

Locally my husband & I helped this morning with the cleanup at Pine Rivers Pony Club which is below 2 dams. They had water through the whole place. Quite incredible to see what the force of water can do! At least the water there was clean - coming over the spillways. Not muddy and stinky like some other places. <snip>

Angela, I hope there are many others who are just as thoughtful and willing to help, as you and your family are. I can only imagine how devastating it must be to loose so much and have to deal with clean-up and start all over again.

Still cold and wet here.
