I used to like a spoonful of sugar (or two) in tea and coffee, once upon a time. Then I went on detachment for a few weeks during a time when there was a shortage of sugar, and the local office tea-swindle felt it was too expensive an item so each individual was to become responsible for their own.

(how many times have you been in a cafe/restaurant and asked for a black coffee and they've given a small pot of milk with it ! ?)
