I'm at work now, so I don't have Calibre on my computer. But from memory: Tags (and maybe? series) are automatically added as "collections." You'll want to find the device configuration settings (called Sony plugin, I think?) and there you tell it whether to use tags, series, authors name, etc. as collections or not. When you use the "Send to Device" option, it will update your Sony's metadata.
