When I brought my original kobo, and 2 weeks after experiencing battery issues (wouldn't hold a charge past two days, even with no reading), I had the choice of an exchange or a refund at my chapters store. I took the refund, and while they were going to give cash, I asked for a gift card instead as I had decided to wait for the wifi version to be released. As long as you go in with a calm demeaner and aren't ranting and raving, they're usually pretty reasonable.
