Yes I too have suffered from the same ahm issue. Part of the problem with the nook is that it is not a full android device so there is a lot of work in getting to act like an android device. With hacks here and there.
Then once you get past that hurdle it's finding the right apps and then using the apps vs reading.
It took me several weeks before I actually started reading on the nook. The trick is to find a place with no wifi and then you will not be tempted to play/read the other apps that require internet access.
Now I'm back to reading and find I'm tweaking my nook less and less.
