you probably need a tablet - one of the new ones that will come to market this year. you could try posting in the "Which one should I buy" forum but really MR is about ereaders, not tablets, so you're not necessarily going to get the indepth knowledge and reviews here for tablets. You might try Pocketables or Brighthand.

having to scroll depends a lot on how the page has been set up. some pages are really long so you'll have to scroll regardless. I would suggest focussing on a screen that lets you read a full PDF page comfortably. and remember that comfort is a personal thing.
