I just went out to try and drive over to my mom's house, but no cars are making it on my street at all. It's solid ice. I can't even walk over there today, because, again, solid ice. You can't even stomp and crack it.

That sucks. I second the kitter litter idea. When I was pregnant I couldn't shovel the walkway and used kitty litter right down the driveway to the car so I could get to the docs. It works really well if you're desperate enough.
