You can't compare PRS-500, 505 and 300 with Kindle 3.
You compare old Sony models with the latest Kindle.
You need to compare PRS-350/650 with the Kindle 3.
That said if you just want to read text, PRS-650 is too expensive, PRS-350 is too small, feel comfortable with converting epub to mobi, don't want to read books from public libraries and don't need a touchscreen then go with K3. Otherwise PRS-350 or PRS-650 would be a better choice.
