All my lenses have been plastic for years. However, I still wouldn't use eyeglass cleaner on my Kindle for fear that it would react poorly. Not all kinds of plastic are equal.
I've found a dry microfiber cloth takes care of any smudges. Actually I just use the same one I use for my glasses.
