I called the local drugstore to see if they were open and they said yes, so I walked there, about a mile (better than trying to drive on these scary roads) and got it, then walked it back to mom's house, another half mile or so. This first pic shows why it was so hard walking -- my boots broke through the crust with every step, so I feel like I burned about a million calories getting there, up and down the hills. It was scarier heading home, though, because the freezing drizzle that got me so wet was turning the streets and sidewalks into a skating rink. The last block I had to chop down with my heels hard to get any traction at all. I saw a few cars out, but they were doing some graceful circles in the road. Unintentionally, of course. I can't believe how much icier it is now than it was just a couple of hours ago. Anyway, medicine is delivered, I'm home with my kitties, my snuggie, a bowl of chili and rice, and my kindle.
Glad you're home safe and warm now.
Forecast is for snow for us tomorrow.
