I have my kindle collections setup like this:
_Currently Reading
_Read Later
[ Current Series ]
{ Category 1 }
{ Category 2 }
+Series 1
+Series 2
And then organized alphabetically. I've been using this organize about 200 books and so far I'm very happy with it.
