The real reason for my Florida visit, despite all the eating and shopping, was to spend time with my mother. She was dying of liver cancer, and had been fighting it for the past several years. The doctors finally told her that there was nothing more that they could do for her, so we planned our visit to spend some time with her to say goodbye face to face. Our timing was good. Mom passed away early in the morning of the 8th. She no longer has to suffer. May she rest in peace along side my father.
