Ooohhhh...I need a few!

Just got a nook for Xmas and have finished two books on it so far.

The first was "Look Again" by Lisa Scottoline. It was okay. Pretty good for keeping the interest but I tend to not want romance mixed in with my mystery/thriller. Dislike books that you know as soon as a character is introduced, you know they're a love interest and you pretty much can conclude that somehow or another he/she and she/he will end up together at the end.

Just finished "Too Close to Home" by Linwood Barclay and REALLY enjoyed it. No romance thrown in the mystery. Lots of twists and turns to keep the interest. Although it had a fair amount of violence, I liked that it wasn't very graphic. I've read some books that it actually bothers me to read because of that.

Don't care for police/detective stories, anything too graphic (like I said) or government/military.

Don't care for writers that take a paragraph to describe a scene...too wordy....cut to the chase please. Used to enjoy Joy Fielding but before getting the nook hadn't read anything for quite awhile.

Any suggestions would be great.

Just downloaded "The Other Daughter" by Lisa Gardner so we'll see what that's like.
