I used to be one of the "Kindle = instant gratification" crowd as well. But, not everyone has either a convenient, well-stocked public library, or decent local bookstores, available. Moreover, I think we might take sideloading for granted as "easy", when it can be intimidating for others, who'd benefit from Whisper-purchasing instead.
