I am reading a lot of PDFs on my SONY PRS-505. It actually works quite OK. But then again - they are not really PDFs - I use several programs like PDFLRFWIN, Acrobat X etc to convert and fine tune them.
I am able to convert all PDFs into quality ebooks for my device. That said, however, I would like a bigger screen. Because, you ARE only able to see a small part of a PDF page at a time if it has to be readable.
But I am, especially thanks to PDFLRFWIN, which is a brilliant little program that unfortunately was discontinued due to some GPL violation, able to read both articles and technical books.

Generally, I would say that you have to convert or process your PDFs in some way to read them on a 6" screen...
