i just read this thread. h0ly cr@p.

the day my first kindle was delivered and was waiting for me at home, i spotted my first kindle in the 'wild'. i'd been so excited about my new kindle, but then i saw the guy's kindle flash black on the page-turn, and thought, "uh-oh.. not sure i'll be able to live with that..." but i'd been waiting for this technology since the 70's, so was determined to give it a shot. my blink-rate ended up synchronizing to my page-turns so my eyes were shut when the page blacked. now, nearly two years later, my eyes still close right when i hit the page-turn click.

if one lives in an area without a strong 3g signal, the 3g device really does seem to be useful mainly for travel. if you don't travel, maybe you could return the kindle you have and get the wifi only model to save $50.

oh. and, if i hadn't been killing time while i waited for my kindle hanging out on the amazon kindle discussion board, i never would have discovered that USB connector on my own except by accident.

anyway. if you don't like your kindle/can't get used to it/don't want to get used to it/don't think you should have to get used to it, for heaven's sake send it back. it's for relaxation and enjoyment, not stress and frustration.
