Diap, that may have been true with Kindle 1 or 2 and/or topaz files but not with current azw/azm files.
1) I called Amazon support and they also verified the DRM "code" is determined by account, not by device.
2) To verify this, I bought a book that came as a AZW file with DRM that I downloaded from Amazon to Kindle4PC, then transferred that file from my PC directly to my Kindle via USB cord and the file worked without a problem.
