I initially placed the order for my Kindle on Nov 28th last year and the expected arrival date was the 27th of January - to Prague, Czech Republic, as it was supposed to be a Christmas present, that was no good.
What I did in the end was I used one of those firms that ship things from the states to Europe, shipito was the one I used and so I cancelled my previous order, placed a new one, had them deliver it to shipito and had them send it on to me, the whole thing altogether took a week, which was a big step up from a month. I also got it for around 2/3 of the price that I would have paid here locally as the local markups are quite high.
Problem is that they are changing the excise duties soon in this country and the tax-free limit will be 20 euros from 200 that it was previously, so it will mean that the only reason to buy from abroad will be because you really can't buy it any where else.
