902 Pro and charging

I need some clarification, because the whole charging thing is getting kinda confusing..
I have read somewhere that a blinking led (orange) is charging. Now i got a warning, that it needed a charge, although after a few page turns the battery level was 3 bars?
But hey, who am i to complain after 1 month and 1 1/2 week of use. So i connected it to a 1000 MAmp usb charger, and the reader booted. After the boot process the led was friendly blinking, assuring me it was charging (although no other screen then the main menu).
After a while i noticed that the led was no longer blinking (20 minutes?) That can't be right? So i looked, and the Reader was on standby. Is it charging or not? led is no longer blinking.
I rebooted reader, and set usb to charge only. Why did i do that? Because the menu for charge or connect pc shows up, but just 1 second and then disappears. To fast to choose.

So... After this long story, anyone can tell me how to do this the right way?
Preferably someone from PB that can settle for once an all when it is and is not charging?

Happy New Year,

Wilco
