Don't let the naysayers get to you. I loved both the Miles series AND The Sharing Knife and I liked the romance in each. And I am a guy. Another one by LMB that also has great romance is The Curse of Chalion and its sequel Paladin of Souls.

And the Miles series dips into romance regularly as well.
