Good decision to visit the vet. He could have been rolled by a car, or shaken up by a dog, or just got into a cat fight. Cat wounds become infected so darn easily - it's always better to over-react initially.

And yes - I'd much rather give my cats shots than try to jam pills down their throat. In fact I'm currently giving my old cat B-12 shots to stimulate her appetite - easiest thing in the world to sneak up on her and jab!
