Since you have the Kindle, may I recommend that you download Mobipocket Desktop 6.0. It will recognize the Kindle as a reading device, while 6.1 and 6.2 do not. We happen to have a copy here:

Admittedly, it's not very useful yet. But I think it's nice to have.
