Yes please report this on Apprentice Alf. I assume you added that same serial number to the plugin customization as it explained in the README for the plugins right? Without that serial number, a book from a standalone Kindle can't be decrypted even by the plugin? So if you did add the serial number correctly to the plugin and the plugin failed but the standalone KindleBooks gui tools did not, then something is messed up and I am sure the developers would love to hear about it to track it down and get it fixed.
