Some B&N's have an attached Starbucks, and some have a B&N Cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. If you have to pay for your books before you can go get some coffee, that's a Starbucks. If you can browse books you haven't bought while you drink your coffee, that's a B&N Cafe.
Starbucks doesn't accept B&N coupons and gift cards, and the B&N Cafe doesn't accept Starbucks gift cards.
