Color or black and white Nook?
I used to be an avid reader of this site, but, alas, time got the better of me. So I'm out of date regarding my e-reader choices. Members of this site helped me a lot with my first e-reader purchase and now I'm back for more words of wisdom.
I had purchased a Sony 505 and it's ok for general reading. However, now I would like to be able to purchase reference books (i.e. business) and I've always been in the habit of dogearing the pages, writing notes, and highlighting things. I've tried downloading the Kindle and Nook apps for PC but other than reading the book and bookmarking, that's all you can do. Color display isn't a deal breaker for me and I'm not sure 3G would be dealbreakers either, although I'm sure it's a nice feature. Proprietary book formats is not something I'm a fan of but for the right device (and price), might reconsider.
I'm lusting after an iPad, but that just has to wait until later this year. I still think I want a separate reading device to control the urge to get distracted with checking email, etc.
The Nook looks like it would fit the bill, but I'm wondering if the black and white version would let me scribble in the margins and highlight passages.
