True Grit was by Charles Portis and published as a novel in 1968, shortly after it had been run as a serial in the Saturday Post (I re-watched the John Wayne movie just yesterday). There are ebook downloads offered on the net, but a quick look suggests they might be pirated copies scanned from the paperback. Cheers. Neil
