I have had a knife in my pocket (Gerber LST, if you want to know) for approximately 30 years. In those 30 years, it has cut string, opened boxes, made fuzz-sticks, sliced food, sharpened pencils, and done a hundred other things. None of those were unlawful. So why would merely carrying that knife subject me to arrest in Australia?
Because the nannies assume that because I
could do something unlawful with that knife, I
will do something. Even though I have decades of proof to the contrary. My "lawful reason to carry one" is that it's a handy tool that I use for many purposes.
I wonder if they know how much damage someone can do with a screwdriver? Or a piece of string? Or their bare hands?
