If anyone is REALLY concerned about particles scratching their screen, and would prefer not to use a cloth, try a Rocket Blower. Any photography equipment shop would have them. I have a couple around for my DSLRs.
Use that first then follow up with the cloth. Or, do what do if a cloth isn't handy: A couple good strong blows (without spitting
) and I'm good to go...
