Thank, and same to you and yours, Betty. It's nice to be home again. This has been the most unusual trip we've ever made... and that's saying something!
It was as if Murphy's apprentice was trying his hand at messing things up for us every single step of the way, but just falling short. Nothing absolutely 'bad,' but just about everything requiring an extra step to make it very good. And it was very good, even including getting involved in the three day delay because of the storms in the NorthEast. That was one of Murphy's assistant trying to mess things up, but we managed to find some new great resteaurants, see sights we'd not planned on seeing, meeting fine folks, getting in some Keys motorcycle riding, etc., etc., etc. The only drawback was that it cost us more than we had planned to spend, but at least we didn't have to sleep on airport floors and wait in lines for those three days. We did see families camped out all over the airport. (Although the security line at Miami International was outrageous, with 3-4 hours waits, somehow we got picked to bypass the waiting and were taken to a different security location with about 20 other people. I still have no idea why, but I'm not complaining! It's not like we were in a hurry. I planned four hours to clear the airport, just in case. Instead we sat in the lounge, drank tea and read! THAT'S what I mean about Murphy's assistant 'trying but failing.')
My wife said that if I ever were to fall into a pile of horse manure, I'd probably surface with a twenty dollar bill stuck to my nose!
