Calibre is not a ePub publisher. However it does provide a tool called epub-fix to correct common errors.

If you're publishing a epub then beyond this tool you should take your questions to the ePub forum.

Calibre is extremely reliable, the fault lies with people who think any tool can magically polish a turd. If you wish to create ePubs that meet the specs for publishing you have to do your research. Go to the ePub forum and ask folks there where to find the info/specs and what tools they use.
