i'm hugely -- and vicariously -- enjoying this thread. great topic.

@madzippy, the kindle3 and nook were both given to you as gifts -- maybe it's ok if you keep them both? as 'iffy' as the fate of barnes & noble is, you can still use the nook to borrow books from the library.

i have no regrets myself about having chosen the kindle, but have recently begun to think about a second, non-amazon device for library borrowing. you might also like having a device around to lend to a friend, or for overnight visitors to use. yeah, it's a luxury, but it's not like you went out and bought yourself two devices!
