Belatedly, I think that the Kobo is:
1. Easily one of the most practical eReaders
2. Light and pleasant to look at and hold
3. Good screen size and clarity
4. Wifi enabled (now)
5. Easy to manage using a computer
6. Interface feels humble, streamlined
7. Interface is easily one of the best on an eReader (Sony... ugh!)
8. Has expandable memory slot (if you happen to get over a thousand books this could be useful (but most of us probably won't need to worry too much about this))
9. I like saying the word "Kobo"!
I spend egregious amounts of money on eBooks and the Kobo eats them up. I haven't really gotten around to Public Library books yet in my eBook career. Generally, if a book is worth reading it is worth paying for. If it ain't worth payin' for then it is probably not worth reading.
