Question... I finally convinced myself to do the screensaver hack with the justification that I'm more likely to lose my Kindle on my upcoming trip than to break it, and besides, Amazon seems quite lenient in their warranty policies (the tipping point was seeing an official post on their site about the k2 saying that they wouldn't invalidate warranties for screensaver changes).
Anyhow, I created a nice set of images w/ contact information on the image using gimp and they all worked great... then later today I decided to make a few more, but none of those work! They're all 600x800, indexed gif with the same custom Kindle palette as the others... yet, no matter what I try they still won't load, it just skips right past them and loads the others...
I've tried:
- full wipe of the screensaver folder, disconnect, confirm blank screen on sleep, restore images
- save as PNG in case something was messed up in the gif file
- checked all image properties and compared to a stock image (did find that the ppi was 72.002, but fixing that didn't solve it)
Any ideas about what I might be missing? I might try copying a stock image and then pasting into that to see if that fixes it, but I'm sick of it right now. :-)
