Yup. I saw him interviewed on the Charlie Rose show and he flat out said that they intentionally built the Kindle market as a seperate entity from the e-book market. If they were only interested in the Kindle, then they would not have developed the various applications that allow e-books to be read on other devices. He would prefer you buy a Kindle and the e-books from Amazon but he is fine with you buying your e-books from Amazon and reading on an IPad or a Nook Color. (winks)

I do think it says something that folks with Nook Colors are rooting their devices and downloading the Kindle Android App. I thought that the ability to buy e-books from Sony, Kobo, and BN meant that you didn't need to buy books from a store like Amazon. (winks)

It makes me chuckle.
