I keep one in my car for night repairs also. A perfect hands-free light source for changing a tire or working under the hood.

Try a smaller, more fashionable design like this:

Mammut S-Lite Headlamp -- it's only $20 from REI, has three brightness levels, uses 1x AA battery, and doesn't look dorky.
