Device: Kobo Aura and Kobo Mini, had a Nook, NOOKcolor, Nook STR.
My husband is super picky with reading, if he's not into something right away, he just goes on to something else.. The only series he will read over and over are The Wheel of Time and Harry Potter. Although they are not really exactly similar in genre as WoT is more epic fantasy, they still seem to draw a lot of the same people.

Percy Jackson is great, but I found it a bit too young for me. It is a great series though. I plan on reading it to my son in a year or two.

I second The Hunger Games and would add The Maze Runner. They are both more dystopian type series, but they are amazing. Eragon is pretty good as well. Not nearly as epic as WoT, but has a lot of the main HP themes.
