It sounds like your 650 is way faster than my 950. The 950 is not any faster than the 900 I previously had... and yes, I think loading 300 books would take AT LEAST 2 hours on my 950... I have tried loading my collection of PDF (some 600 papers with annotations) and I just gave up after 5 hours...

EDIT: I should be more precise. I loaded the papers on an SD card and put the SD card in the reader. After 5 hours it was still indexing, so I gave up.
