The kindlefix approach to OverDrive lending library ebooks only works on Kindle 1's (so far as I know).
The alternative is to borrow the MOBI lending library ebook with Windows MobiPocket Reader (say), and then strip the DRM to get a DRM-free MOBI which works on your Kindle. Unlike stripping DRM from ebooks you bought, this is probably not covered by fair use in the US. But it is ethical if you delete the DRM-free version when the library lending period expires.
There is a stand alone python script, mobidedrm, or a Calibre plugin, that does this. See the tools_2.4 bundle. As usual, Apprentice Alf's Blog is the best source of all info about DRM issues. There are similar scripts and plugins for Adobe ePub lending library ebooks.
