It's a beautiful device. I just got mine a few weeks ago. Held off all this time, and now enjoying it. Does all I need, and I use it every day as well as just for quick note writing at work too. Standby mode for instant on is so handy and battery life is great for such a colorful multiple use tablet.
I tend to get distracted by, well, the distractions on an iPad. Reading on my KDX helps me focus. Easier on my eyes, too. It's the same reason I continue to read pbooks. For all purposes save the bulk, my EBRs and my pbooks are the same thing. The iPad, for me, is my computer. In fact, I find myself reading the iPad at the dinner table, (before, during & after dinner) and the KDX in my easy chair in the living room. I'm going to have put a timer on the iPad in order to remind myself to get off the computer & into a good book.
