I leave mine up until after the New Year as we still enjoy them for a New Year's Day get-together.
Then the cleaning from that includes taking down and putting away all the Christmas stuff too. It drives my neighbor crazy as they have a tradition in her family that you have to start the New Year with a totally clean house -- you can't even have any trash in garbage cans in the house. Everything has to be done before midnight New Year's Eve, so while she is out cleaning windows, I always tease her about coming over to do mine.
