First, welcome to MR

You simply need to go to the Home screen, open the Menu, and select "Sync & Check for Items" answering "yes" if asked to turn on wireless. If you are using a WiFi only K3 you will, of course, have a nearby WiFi access point to connect to.

I suggest that you take a look at Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com/). Its a library manager and format converter that can do the ePub (along with a whole pantheon of other formats) to MOBI conversion allowing you to move the file to your Kindle over USB or it can email it to your Kindle. There's a forum dedicated to it here on MR. Free ebooks often need some massaging and Calibre can make easy work of most of it.
