What you are talking about is adding (embedding) fonts or font references to the actual EPUB files. Even though the method may be similar, but the principle is very different. The "Russified FW" enabling pepak's hack allows you to add a global defaults file to the Reader instead of modifying each and every EPUB file you happen to buy or download.
