I used to make it on the stove; from some cheap red whine, cinnamon stick, lemon peel, a bit of sugar and an orange with cloves stuck into it------and let it simmer during the day. Had it on that stove all Christmas-time (roughly dec/half of jan). The whole house smelled of it for weeks; lovely
But I found this in a bottle in Germany (live near the border) and it tastes great.
You're very welcome to come over and have a taste
but take care: we've lots of snow and the roads aren't being cleared. The city's waiting for it to go away by itself. hmm
