having used an iphone3g for reading, it was ok. but then I've since used a Sony Reader and an iPad. so I won't go back to the iPhone even though I have an iPhone 4 now. I guess it's what your used too. if your eyes are good enough, you might find it comfortable, see if a friend has got one, you could look at and see if reading for any length oftimw will be ok.
