I agree with Boxcorner that the Sony PRS-650 and 350 are good choices. I have used the Sony for over two months now to read French, German, Italian and Spanish books and the dictionaries are really good. The advantage with the new Sony is that it has the new high contrast Pearl screen, and the dictionaries are built in. Once you have chosen your language, just tap lightly twice on the word and a window opens at the bottom of the page with the translation. With other ebook readers you probably have to install the dictionaries separately and you definitely cannot consult them with just two taps.
