I work in the healthcare industry and the rules we have to follow aren't that different from Amazon's, and you better not be sick more than 6 days a year, or more than once in a month, where I work. We also have the 7 1/2 minute leeway on punching in and out (they don't want to pay overtime and that's why the rule is in place). Since I work for a lab we have rules that might look strange to others, e.g. we can wear jeans to work, but they have to be white jeans (so you can see if there is any blood on them).
