Just a meet and greet.

Well I may not really be a hoopy frood, but I do know where my towel is.

I usually do a "press the flesh" when joining a forum. Figuratively speaking of course.

I've been looking at e-readers for quite a while but was not convinced that the price of e-books made them a viable alternative to dead tree books. However my wife bought me one (Velocity Micro Cruz reader) for an early Christmas present aaaaaaaaaand so here I am.

I'll have to admit I'm still uncertain about the viability of e-books at this time given the problems of formats and DRM. I love the idea of carrying all my reading material in a small package and I don't need the tactile sensation of a physical book. For me it is the content, not the dressing.

This appears to be an excellent source of info and opinions. I'm mostly a lurker but will chime in on a subject on occasion.

So greetings to all and please give me a bit of slack if I inadvertently offend or step on toes.
