I just realized why there are so few Kindles in the wild where I am at this quote. Depends where you are, I guess and how big a portion the Kindle's price is to your disposable income. I'm never bringing it when I commute.

Besides the risk of it being stolen, the only way I'll be able to keep it intact is to commute via expensive vans, "FX's" as they are called here, or take a taxi cab. Jeepneys (extended Jeeps with bench like seating) here are road hazards and buses are rolling coffins. You get tossed every which way when you ride one of them or compressed into such a small space that you won't be able to think or both! The same can be said for the metro rail transit, our answer to subways only they rise into the sky instead of being buried in the ground.
